About FIA
The Federal Investigation Agency, owned by the Interior Ministry of Pakistan, is responsible for border control, criminal investigations, counterintelligence, and security operations governed by the espionage and terrorism field of federal crimes, smuggling, infringement, and other criminal acts. The Pakistani Constitution established the agency in 1974 and was incorporated into the Department of Interior. The international operations run by the FIA are also carried out in close collaboration and coordination with Interpol. The agency has numerous branch offices and field offices in major cities of Pakistan and its main office in Islamabad.
